Heather Mackin, Petaluma resident and Trope Group Designer and Marketing Director has been accepted into the Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership program.  This 10 month program serves to introduce tomorrow’s leaders to the community, and features one full day of every month dedicated to a specific subject area, such as history, public safety, business, agriculture, education, the arts, and so on.

During July, our Operations group moved our warehouse while still keeping up with all of the day to day installation needs of our many clients.  After years of struggling with a space that did not meet our needs, we have moved into a warehouse with two dock doors and 40% more space.  The entire space is forklift accessible with 19’ clear racked ceiling height.  The new layout is well organized and efficient, and even leaves room for us to do some pre-assembly work before taking product out to client sites.  Our warehouse manager Abel Manzanares, worked tirelessly to manage this project to its successful completion.

Trope Group was thrilled to sponsor and participate in this inaugural event created by the North Bay Business Journal, which was held at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel.  Facilities Managers play a very important role in the success of the businesses they serve, and this event served to recognize their achievements and contribution.  Our President, Christina Pratt had the honor of introducing several of the winners.

Heather Mackin and Charlie Nicholls attended NeoCon this year.   NeoCon takes place at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, and is the Office Furniture Industry’s largest annual event.  Manufacturers show the latest concepts in design and products in their showrooms and the best new products receive awards.

We are pleased to announce Ellen Navarro has joined our team as Account Executive for Solano County.  The last 12 of Ellen’s 20 years in the office furniture industry were in design and sales of laboratory casework and furniture for Northern California healthcare, biotechnology and higher education facilities.  She is a member of the Solano Chamber of Commerce and resides in Fairfield.

Trope Group joined the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and looks forward to getting involved in this organization’s support of the economic vitality of this community, which includes a number of our clients.

Trope Group was voted Best Of in the Office Services category of the North Bay Biz magazine’s reader’s poll for the second year in a row.  We received the award at an elegant reception held at the Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club.  Co-Owners Christina Pratt and Charlie Nicholls feel this award is an affirmation of the success they’ve built through the years. “When we think about our business, both who we are and who we want to be, this is it,” says Pratt. “We’re the best choice for business customers in the North Bay.”

Operations Manager Cameron Ramos, Design Director Mavis Allan and President Christina Pratt attended the Herman Miller Certified Dealer Network Operations, Finance and Design Forum in Chicago.  The trip included a warehouse and showroom tour of Interior Investments, our dealer partner in the Chicago market.  “These few days packed in a lot of learning in our various disciplines.  The break-out sessions were geared toward our respective roles.  This was a wonderful opportunity to learn and share best practices across the network.  After it was over we had a few hours before our flight home to enjoy an architectural river tour of Chicago.“ said Pratt.

The Human Race is the North Bay’s largest fund raising event for non-profits.  This year the Trope Group team walked in support of Community Action Partnership, an agency that helps low income families and individuals to achieve economic and social stability.  We raised $2,500 for CAP and enjoyed a beautiful day in our community.

For the past six years, the North Bay Business Journal’s editorial staff has annually selected the top 40 young professionals from a pool of nominations.  The winners are selected on the basis of their leadership in companies and organizations across the North Bay.    Heather Mackin, Trope Group’s Marketing Director, received the award at a reception held at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek on May 2^nd and was featured in a special publication of the North Bay Business Journal.
